MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope you all had a VERY Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful holiday with lots of family gatherings. It was pretty busy but we made it without too many meltdowns! I thought you might enjoy some family pics as well as some of the kiddos. Our family pic with Izzy & Zeke was quite an adventure. After about 15 times of me setting the timer, running to get in the picture and trying to get the dogs and kids looking at the camera we finally got a decent one with everyone looking. Mac was saying "cheese" and Brekk was having a rough night so we couldn't get any smiles from him but I guess beggers can't be choosers right!? Hope this finds you all happy and healthy!

Sorry it's been FOREVER since I posted last but life's been busy with getting ready for Christmas. Last Friday we went and cut our Christmas tree. It was pretty chilly so we chose quickly but it was still lots of fun. Mac had a blast even though it was quite a long walk up and down some big hills. Brekk just hung out with me and we kinda watched Mac and Andy do all the work! We all decorated the tree on Saturday morning which was fun since Mac is more into it this year than ever before. The tree WAS beautiful and Mac was so proud....but when we came home from church on Sunday the tree wasn't so pretty anymore! Izzy, our dog ATTACKED the tree. The bottom 3/4 of the tree was left empty...she chewed up all the ornaments and even the lights....CRAZY! Izzy is such a good dog so we were totally shocked. The only thing we can figure is that something scared her like a weird noise or someone knocking on the door and she thought it was the tree so she destroyed it! I was SO sad...I was crying my head off because they were all my ornaments from when I was little, ornaments made for us (Erin), and Mac's "first" ornaments. I'm pretty much over it now and the tree is looking nice again. Some friends that came to visit on Sunday night brought us a bunch of new ornaments whcih was super sweet so the tree isn't so bare anymore. That's been the exciting news around here I guess. Oh yeah, Brekk turned 6 months yesterday....he weighs 17 lbs 14 oz...he's a BIG boy! Mac was only 19 lbs at a year so although they look alike their builds are VERY different. He's healthy and doing great though so we are very happy about that. I will post again soon...I promise!

Mac's Snowman

The puppies ATTACKED the Snowman We were all outside playing (shoveling) the other day and Mac decided she wanted to make a snowman. So while Andy continued to shovel we started making a little snowman for Mackena. Zeke and Izzy (our dogs) were outside playing too and decided that they wanted to play with the snowman. We know more than finished making the snowman, took a couple pictures and then it was destroyed by Zeke and Izzy. Thankfully Mac wasn't too sad...she just scolded them and then tried to fix it. There really wasn't much left to fix so we just decided we'll make a new one another day when the dogs aren't outside playing with us.

Mac loves sports!

Mackena has really been into watching/'playing' sports lately. She is so funny! She loves to play football by running "really fast" back and forth across the living room and then she pretends to throw the football. This is what she does every time we watch a game on TV. Mac likes basketball too. Over the weekend we went to watch our cousin Tanner in a 5th grade basketball tourniment here in town. We thought it would be a good INDOOR activity since it was a blizzard outside! She had a blast....she was constantly yelling whatever the coaches (one being her cousin Scott) were telling the boys to do. She cheered and clapped the entire game. I thought for sure she would get bored but she didn't. Mac was actually sad when it was all over for the day. She loves her cousins Tucker and Tanner even though she doesn't get to see them very often. They are just so good with her and love playing with her.

It finally snowed here on Friday so Mac got to use her new cool shovel and 'help' mommy. It was SUPER cold so we weren't outside long but she had fun shoveling that's for sure. While Mac was having fun Brekk has been kinda miserable(even though he still had some happy smiles going on). He's had a cold for a couple weeks and on Friday he was not himself at all so I called the doctor and then took him in. The poor little man has an ear infection on top of his cold AND teething. Thankfully I think he's feeling a little better and he's been sleeping a little more(THANK GOODNESS!). We had a pretty lazy weekend at home since the weather was bad but it was good to just stay home and get healthy.

Yesterday was Andy's b-day and we had so much fun getting ready to celebrate. Mackena and I (Brekk too I guess) made him a cake, got his presents ready, and decorated the house with signs, balloons, and streamers. When Andy got home from hunting we had a sign & balloon on the door and balloons, signs & streamers all over the house. Mac had such a blast decorating and Andy was surprised. It was a very fun day! Mac thought she was so cool making the cake (eating it too) and I think Brekk liked 'helping' us!
