A Very Busy Weekend

The weather in WI has been unbelieveable. Over the weekend it was 80+ degrees....heavenly!!! With such wonderful weather we couldn't help but be outside every day. It's funny to see the kids in "summer" clothes in the middle of October but it was just so nice out. Now it's back to wind, rain, and the usual cool WI October days.
Besides just playing outside over the weekend we were busy going to the pumpkin patch and raking leaves. Mackena absolutley LOVED the pumpkin patch. We had a horse drawn wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch where the kids had a blast picking out pumpkins and then once we got back to the entrance area we got to have popcorn and apple cider. They had lots of goats, sheep, dogs, chickens, peacocks, and horses for the kids to see and pet too. It was a great family outing that the kids thoroughly enjoyed as did Andy and I.
Sunday was another gorgeous day so we decided to rake up the millions of leaves in our yard. Mac had fun doing that too...she was a great helper. Brekk "helped" too. It was so cute watching him with such a huge rake...he had lots of fun. Our yard DID look nice until the wind and rain last night....now you can't even tell we did yard work. O'well, just another day of raking in store to keep the kids busy. Have a great week!

DOGS!

Since I know many of you are wondering...."why do the Peterson's have 3 dogs?!", I thought I would give you a little taste of what these dogs actually do. Yes, I get frustrated having 3 dogs in my tiny house to take care of along with my 2 (soon to be 3 kids), but we LOVE them. Here are some pics of Andy and the kids out training the dogs. The dogs are pointing birds in all of the pics if you're wondering why they look so intent. They are great dogs and I know that most of the time I don't give them (or Andy) enough credit. So, I'm dedicating (how corny) this post to my wonderful husband and his crazy hunting dogs! :)
Don't worry, I included pics of the "human" kids too!

Baby #3 at almost 12 weeks....everything looks great!

Our newest addition....7 week old Sarge!

He loves this toy but it's huge and he's always trying to carry it.

I can't believe summer is almost over! We have had a fun and exciting summer. To catch you up, if you haven't heard we are expecting our 3rd little Peterson in March. We are super excited and are just hoping that this baby waits until then and doesn't come 5 weeks early like the other 2 have. We are trusting God for at least 1 extra week so that I can deliver in Mauston and so we can come home as a family instead of the baby having to be in the hospital 1-2 weeks. Also, we have another addition. We picked up our 3rd dog yesterday. Sarge is 7 weeks old and is another English Pointer....don't worry, he's gonna be an outside dog once he's a couple months older (phew!).
Besides those super exciting bits of news, we've been busy swimming, playing at the park, going to the zoo, going on bike rides, we went to the Juneau County Fair (& the rodeo which the kids loved!), and of course playing outside every day. Now that summer is over things should slow down but probably not. I'll start substitute teaching again in 2 weeks when school starts so that will be a change after being home with the kids for 3 months. I'm excited though, a little change of pace is always nice.
We are all doing well. Mac is still acting like 3 going on 16 and Brekk is just a crazy little man. He's always busy getting into something while Mackena "tries" to be the mommy and scold him. Fun, fun, fun!
I'll try to post more pics again soon.

Busy June!

Brekk & Cooper's (my nephew) 1st Birthday Brekk loved playing with the gift bags
Brekk's sailboat cake
Cake face!
Mac's new tricycle
Mac's puppy cake
Mackena had her party at Chuck E Cheeses and had a blast!
Andy and I took the kids to the deer park for their b-days and Mackena had 2 big bucks eating right out of her hand!
Brekk liked the bucks too...they got right in his face. It was cool because they still had the velvet on their horns.

I know it's been a while again....June was as busy as ever. After vacation it was Brekk's 1st b-day, Father's day, and Mackena turned 3! Yeah, you could say we did a lot of celebrating so we have some catching up to do on pictures.
Summer is going WAY to fast. We've finally got the mosquitos under control in our yard so we aren't getting swarmed every time we step outside the door (thank you ortho mosquito-b-gone spray!). The kids no longer look like they have the chickenpox from all their bug bites so that is a good thing too!
Brekk and Mac love to spend every free moment outside so that's what we've been up to lately. They swim in the little pool in the yard and have SO much fun going down the slide into their other little pool.
Oh yeah...I almost forgot....the little man is finally moving. He took his first steps the night of his first birthday but now he lets go on his own and makes his way around the house. He's still kinda in that clumsy, wobbly stage but hey...at least he's moving! :)
Andy's schedule has changed once again so we are adjusting to that and believe me...it's a crazy one this time. Hopefully we'll get into a routine soon and Mac will quite asking for daddy ALL the time!
Our lives are good here. We are looking forward to the rest of the summer just chillin and having fun while it lasts!

Colorado!

Long story but we ended up staying in a king suite in NE on our way to CO and Mac thought swimming in the little pool (i.e. the whirlpool in our room) was so cool.
We made it!!!
Elk are everywhere in Estes, even right along the road. Here were 2 bull elk just eating along the hwy.
It SNOWED in June. You gotta love the mtns!
Our family hiking in the mountains. A trail went from our back yard right into Rocky Mtn National Park.

We're back from Estes Park, CO and I'm finally posting some pics! It's been nuts since we got home...unpacking, preparing for Brekk and Cooper's b-day party, celebrating Brekk's b-day (yesterday) and trying to get things back to normal. It was great to get away to Colorado! We had such a wonderful time...we really didn't want to come home but we were really missing our dogs (our parents took care of them...thanks guys)!

I can't even begin to tell you all about the trip but some highlights included: Mac seeing mountains for the first time, lots of wildlife (Mac really loved the elk), seeing old friends at the Ravencrest reunion and meeting new ones, shopping, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and spending lots of time together as a fam! Brekk and Mackena did AWESOME traveling...who would have thought traveling 16 hours x2 would be such a breeze...okay, they each did have 1 meltdown but that's not bad considering how long we drove! Our fam stayed with my friend Tricia's fam in a house we rented and it was a blast. The kids got along perfect! Together we had 5 kids in the house ages 0, 1, 2, 3, & 4....crazy but fun! We really cannot wait to go back...we LOVE the mountains!

Vacation

Mac's new apron

Me, Mackena, Erin and her precious baby boy Reed
We are off to Colorado in the morning....can't wait! I have a Ravencrest reunion in Estes Park so I will get to see lots of friends that I haven't seen in about 8 years (bible school where I went for a year after high school). It will be so much fun to meet everyone's spouses and children.
The Peterson fam has been very very busy. My best friend Erin had her baby on Wed night and that was SO exciting!!! Reed Aaron was born at 9:51pm weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz and is 20 1/2 in. long. He is just beautiful! What a little miracle. Erin and Jesse are doing awesome and they are such wonderful parents. I'm sure he's gonna change so much in the next couple weeks while I'm gone but for now he is just a little peanut....too cute!!
So, here are some pics to hold you over for a week or so. I'm sure I will have TONS to post when we get back. Mac is SO excited to meet her new friends, see mountains (or really BIG hills as she says), and to see lots of elk. Little does she know that it's gonna be one REALLY long ride before she gets to see all of that. O'well, I'm sure her and Brekk will do great and we are very excited for our first family trip.
Have a great week and I'll post pics when we get back!

Quick Update

Brekk's Dedication
Pastor Jay and Brekk
We put a new roof on our house a couple weeks ago. My dad, my brother and Andy worked really hard to get it done over a long weekend. Sorry, I guess this is kind of a butt shot but this was them tearing the old shingles off.
One side almost finished! They did such an awesome job!!!
The boys came with Heath for the weekend. Mac and Bode had so much fun!Cooper and Brekk played well together too...I guess as good as 11 month old boys can play together that is!
I know it's been a while since my last post. Like I said, we roofed our house which was a crazy busy time and then I've been subbing alot this month. We are all doing well and are really looking forward to some more warm weather so that we can hopefully get a swimming pool out sometime soon. Mac is doing so many cute things these days....I don't even know where to start! She's been making up a lot of songs lately about her friends, Izzy and Zeke (our dogs) and whatever else she can think of I guess. It's just funny how she really tries to sing like it's a serious song. And for the little man...Brekk is standing really well. Never has crawled yet and I'm beginning to think he's gonna skip that stage just like his big sister did....we have some crazy kids in this household. He walks along the couch and around his toy table, etc. Not sure if he'll walk before he's 1 but I think he'll be getting close at least. He's so much fun...he's always 'talking' and looks at us like we should know what he's saying. I guess he thinks he can communicate like that but we never know what he actually wants. Brekk is a silly boy that's for sure! Andy is busy as usual but doing well too! With his work schedule and me teaching so much lately we haven't actually seen eachother much during the week but thankfully he's home on the weekends so that is awesome. Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Feeling Better!

Just an update to say that everyone is doing much better in the Peterson home! Brekk is doing great....back to being happy and sleeping all night. YEAH!!!! The rest of the fam is doing well too. It was a great day yesterday as we had Brekk's dedication. The weather was beautiful and the service was amazing. We love being a part of Pine Valley and thank God everyday for our church family! Lots of family members were able to join us so it was great to see our families and fun for Mac to get to play with her cousins. I'll post pics soon...I promise! I know that's what everyone checks the blog for anyway! :) Have a happy Monday!

Sick again!

Mac making her baby brother feel all better
Well once again we've all had nasty colds around here. It really needs to warm up and STAY warm! Brekk was not doing well at all on Friday so I ended up taking him into Urgent Care and he has pneumonia again! Poor baby...I felt so horrible! They ended up admitting him into the hospital that night but he only had to stay until Saturday around noon. They hooked him up with an IV for fluids and an antibiotic and gave him some breathing treatments again. He is doing much better now but still just isn't quite himself. I do think his top 2 teeth are trying to come in too so I'm sure that doesn't help. So, our fam is not doing the best right now. We are all running VERY low on sleep which isn't helping us getting healthy at all. Just pray for sleep and better health for us! Thanks and I'll let you know how the little man is doing in a couple days.
