Easter

Brekk had enough...it was nap time!
Mac doing her usual pose...we aren't sure where she got this crossing her arms thing!
No smiles from the boy though!
Mac coloring eggs and Brekk getting ready to spill them...and he did!
Mackena had fun frosting the easter cookies. She really loved EATING the frosting!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior. It is such an important day that often gets overlooked or replaced with bunnies and treats. I actually found an amazing board book for the kids that talks about celebrating Jesus at Easter. It doesn't say we shouldn't color eggs, hunt for our Easter basket, etc., but they talk about doing those things and relate it to Jesus being our everything. Mac loves the book and now when she looks at the Easter eggs she colored she says "I colored those eggs and Jesus colors my world!"...so sweet! It was a fabulous day for us! Even though Andy had to work in the afternoon, we were still able to go to church as a family which was great. The rest of the day was pretty low key but very relaxing which was nice for a change. Andy's parents came to visit Saturday and my parents came to see us Sunday evening so that I didn't have to travel with the kids by myself AGAIN. With Andy's profession, holidays are always difficult and it gets hard trying to go everywhere without him. That's why we just decided to stay home and be together as our own little family this year. Mackena had so much fun getting ready for Easter by coloring eggs, making cookies, and of course getting her new dress. She always loves when she gets a chance to bake...we have so much fun! Overall we had an amazing day only wishing that Andy could have spent the entire day at home!

Brekk is 9 Months Old!

9 months & still loving jumping!
Mackena "helping" Brekk swing!
Mac still always wants to hold her brother even though he's almost as big as she is!
She even ponders how she can get into mischief while she's sleeping!
Mackena LOVES to read and it's usually the first thing she does when she gets up in the morning....after she goes potty of course!
Brekk is 9 months old already...wow how time flies. He had a doctor appointment yesterday and he is totally healthy which was great to hear. His lungs sound clear and he is back to normal...if you can call it that I guess. Brekk is now weighing in at 20 lbs....yep, he's one BIG boy. Only 6 more lbs until he catches up to Mac. She is really in for a surprise when he can fight back and tackle her like she's always doing to him. I give Brekk another 6 months and then she better watch out! We are definitley enjoying the warmer weather. I know 30's and 40's might not seem warm to most people but to us, it's like Spring has sprung! Anything above freezing feels good at this point after the winter we've had. We've been able to get out for some walks and Mac is sure loving being outside and not "fweezing" anymore. She's loving the MUD too!

A TOOTH!

We are all happy about the tooth!
We finally have a tooth coming in. After many months of me thinking the little man was getting a tooth, he finally has. Yep, this explains the lack of napping and lots of crying the past couple days. HOORAY!!! Way to go Brekk...it's about time since he's almost 9 months old. Now watch, he'll get about 5 all at the same time!

Healthier & Happier!

Brekk having a breathing treatment
Mackena reading to Brekk
(Tricia, this is one of the books you gave her and she LOVES it...we read it at least 6 times a day!)

Trying to get some teeth!

We are doing MUCH better here at the Peterson house! Brekk is getting stronger and breathing better everyday. He's down to 2 breathing treatments a day and I think he's getting used to the mask so that is VERY good. He's also back to sleeping through the night which is making mommy super happy. A mommy who gets some decent sleep is a happy mommy! :) The rest of us are doing well too. Mac and I are almost totally over our colds and Andy's almost there too....if he'd just get some rest and not have to work so much I think he'd be fine. Brekk is definitely back to his happy self. He's playing like crazy again and really working on some teeth. I know, I know....I've said that a hundred times but there are seriously bumps on his lower gum this time so I know we're getting close. Not much else has been going on here. It's been a little calmer and quieter so that is a good thing. We're just hanging out at home trying to get everyone healthy again.

Poor Baby Brekk!

Cuddle time with daddy
We can still get a little smile even when he's sick
Brekk's "cage" at the hospital
Sweet baby boy getting some much needed rest

We're back! I know it's been a while again but we have all been SO sick around here. As you can see the little man actually ended up in the hospital this past week. He wasn't being his happy little self and was just a mess so when we finally decided to take him into the clinic it ended up that he was dehydrated, had pneumonia, and ear infection. Poor baby! As soon as we brought him in and they realized that he was in such rough shape they admitted him to the hospital right away. He had to stay for a couple days but now we are back home. It's like he started feeling better as soon as we walked in the door....being home really makes a difference. It was hard being in the hospital with him because there's not much to do. Thankfully they had a little wagon so we would take him for wagon rides around the hospital and talk to all the doctors and nurses cuz they just loved him. Otherwise we just played in the room when he wasn't sleeping. I feel horrible that he ended up getting so sick but we just thought he had a really bad cold like the rest of us....bad mommy I guess...it's so hard to know what's wrong with a baby because they can't tell us! Anyway, we are very blessed because we have had tons of people praying for Brekk and for all of us to get through this. God is SOOOO good!!! Overall Brekk is doing much better and recovering pretty fast. It's nice to be home where he isn't hooked up to an IV and he can just play and have a normal life again. We are giving him some meds and breathing treatments here at home so that we don't have to be in the hospital anymore which is really nice. My mom and dad came to help with the kiddos today so that I could get some rest and try to get better so that someone is halfway healthy to take care of everyone else. Everyone is getting better slowly but surely I guess. Just keep praying for the little man because it's gonna be a little while until he is totally recovered from this. Thanks for the prayers and I will update again soon to let you know how our little Brekk is doing!
